Sally Avsajanishvili - GEORGIA

Sally is pictured here in the Samsung Store located in the Meatpacking District.

From a young age, Sally was intrigued by technology. Her father was a major techie, so she was constantly surrounded by cameras and other devices, in turn leading to her own passion. Sally takes special interest in photography, preferring to capture moments as they come rather than staged memories. “I know it sounds weird, but I really do spend a lot of time with my cameras” she said, looking down at hers with a placid expression, “it feels good capturing a moment, and then being able to look back at it years later”. Portraits are her favorite, and she has been taking photos of people for years; Sally was always the one chosen to take family photos since the age of five, and she finds that navigating new camera technology comes easily to her. When she came to New York, she decided to take her Nikon D7000 along for the journey. This camera was one of her first big purchases when she got it six years ago and this is a milestone for her because it’s when she first started experimenting with DSLR camera. She hopes to continue to use it more often to document her new life in New York with her two-year old son.
